I recently made a post about [my journey learning japanese and finishing Wanikani](https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/comments/18pi19t/recently_finished_wanikani_18_months_of_japanese/), and a month later, I’m kinda lost a bit and need some help.
As mentioned in the post, I’ve been learning japanese just to read books, and after finishing Wanikani, I feel I reached a point where I can start reading and mine from books. It worked well for 2 books so far. I didn’t understand all of them, but I did mine a bunch. Now I’m reading a relatively simpler book, and I’m completely lost.
I started reading Kiki’s Delivery Service, and if anyone read the book before, they would know that it’s full of onomatopoeia words and a lot of hiragana. Hiragana words have been my weakness so far and mining them is very hard. Sure I can mine them, but most of the hiragana words or onomatopeia have become leeches and they’re very hard to stick. My grammar is around N4 level so I don’t know all grammar yet, but I’m hoping that through books I can improve it as well, but at this point reading Kiki, mining it and trying to review all the Hiragana stuff feels pretty dull and ineffective.
Does anyone have similar experience or have any tips regarding reading books and mining simpler texts?
