I would like to start some research on the history of Japan and Japanese society and I would like to know, what are Japan’s foundational texts? By that I mean, the Western World is very heavily influenced by Aristotle, other Greek writings, and Biblical texts in its philosophy and even political systems in it’s ideas. Does Japan have any important writings that are are foundational to the country and are still relevant in Japanese culture today?
