Hello. I’m in the process of applying for lump sum pension refund after having left Japan permanently months ago. I submitted my 転出届 before leaving, and the resident card got a hole punched into it as I departed. Now I see some websites advise getting a resident certificate after submitting the 転出届, but I didn’t get that. The official nenkin instructions are not too clear about this.
My question is, is submitting the 転出届 and getting the resident card cancelled enough to prove that I no longer reside in Japan? Or am I screwed and if I submit the application it will get rejected and I’ll need to fly over and get the resident certificate by myself? Thanks a lot
Edit: What I submitted at city hall was a **海外**転出届. I asked for some kind of confirmation receipt and they said that for **海外** this is not issued.
