I’m going to Japan at the end of March this year with a group of friends and there are a few things I’d like clarified before we go.
1st. Are the Pasmo Passport cards still available? I see a lot of posts around saying some people get them and some people can’t get any card (Suica or Pasmo) and since Pasmo seemed to be the most available one we’re probably going to stick with that (I also see that it says you get special discounts at some stores for having the passport card).
2nd. Would it be worth to get the JRP if we plan on taking the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka around 4 times in a week? I couldn’t find anything on individual tickets besides people just saying “go to the ticket box to figure it out”
3rd. Not really related to transportation card stuff but does anyone know if there’s a lot of places to exchange American dollars to Japanese Yen around? I ask because I remember when I went to Korea with my family a little while ago the rates at the airport was abysmal and we found much better places to exchange just in little stores around cities and I was wondering if it was better to do this in Japan too.
