  1. In March, investors rejected a company-backed reform proposal to split Toshiba into two businesses.

Some shareholders, including foreign investment funds and U.S.-based proxy advisory firm Institutional Shareholders Services, opposed the plan. An earlier plan that also was scrapped had called for a three-way split.

  2. Dunno what happened to them. I bought a Toshiba Satellite laptop a few years ago and the thing would short out internally when you picked it up because the base was so weak, it would bend and touch off something on the motherboard inside. Threw it in the garbage after 2 months of trying to fix it. (Bought it in Japan but I was in Oz so couldn’t claim a warranty refund).

  3. Going private.
Which foreign hedge funds have the Japanese political connections to allow the complete purchase of the company?

Did they obtain the idea via Elon Musk’s plans of taking Twitter private?
