Hey everyone,
I’ll be traveling to Japan soon. Gonna be there from Feb. 16 – Feb. 22.
My wife and I had made reservations at Nishimuraya Honkan. Seems to be the perfect combination of characteristics for us. And we’ve heard so many great things about it from you all!
As our trip gets closer. I’ve been wondering about the price we were quoted vs. the price for the warmer months. Is a solid 50% cheaper to go there basically anytime during the warmer months.
I know this place is supposed to be fantastic, but man, $1200/night for us to stay there is looking really steep. Especially when looking at the options for the Summer months. Seems that aside from the cold weather, the only difference is that the kaiseki dinner will include the seasonal matsuba crab. Do you feel that a difference in price this significant is worth it?
Heard a lot of people saying they recommend at least 2 nights in Kinosaki, so we will also be staying at the Nishimuraya sister hotel the night before.

Finally, given the duration of our trip. Do you think that this side trip would make our trip too rushed? We will most likely spend the rest of the time in Tokyo.
