I have a very close friend coming next spring with their partner and they have asked me to help them find some high end (michelin rated or not) restaurants for them. Their budget is anything that fits under 350€.
I know the sodoh in higashiyama, hoshinoya in arashiyama, and tempura endo. But I’ve never been to any. My favourites are a tiny sushi counter in sanjo called Edokyo and the Itoh Dining in Gion Shirakawa.
Is there any place that you guys know that does kaiseki with a fusion/innovative kind of twist? I am not sure proper kaiseki is something they’d fully enjoy. Or any place you’ve heard of that people are just overall happy with the experience/environment?
