Moving to Okinawa in Feb

Greetings! I’m transitioning from Rome to Naha for a digital nomad stint of at least three months. My first month’s accommodation is sorted out near Matuo Park – is it a decent area? Although my Japanese is a bit rusty, I’m capable of basic conversations, a skill I picked up from some past studies.

I’m on the lookout for a welcoming cafe with reliable Wi-Fi or a coworking space for my morning work schedule. Do you have any recommendations?

In the evenings, I’m excited to immerse myself in Naha’s city life and plan to spend weekends exploring the island. It would be fantastic to connect with other expats or locals for social outings.

Having been a chef and living in Australia for the last decade, I have a profound respect and immense curiosity for food and Japanese knives. I would also appreciate any pointers towards visiting a local blacksmith, as experiencing their craftsmanship firsthand would be intriguing.

Every supermarket I go to is pretty much out of vegetables! Anyone know of places with good stock?…
