I’ve done some research but found conflicting information about this topic. I’ll be in Japan from mid-March to mid-April, so overall peak sakura season. I’ll need to purchase shinkansen tickets from Tokyo to Osaka (and back), and also from Tokyo to Nagano (and back).
Since it’ll be peak tourist season, would I be able to purchase the tickets on the spot, at Tokyo / Osaka / Nagano stations? Or should I purchase online in advance on SmartEX / Eki-Net?
Also, is there any discount in purchasing the both the “go and return” tickets at once?
It will be our first time in Japan, super duper excited! The opinion and experience of anyone who has done this in the sakura season would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
