From what little research I have done Japanese politics is dominated by the LDP, a liberal conservative party, with them pretty much winning every election for three whole decades now.
Why is this the case though? What happened to the left wing parties of Japan? And are the recent corruption scandals and other events going to have any significant consequences on the LDPs dominance?
