Attending Akamonkai Language School

A little bit background of myself.
I’m a 24 year old Chinese Malaysian who is not very well versed with Chinese but I can read 99% of N5- N4 kanji without any issues.
I can also text basic Chinese sentences to friends.
Katakana and Hiragana I only know a few here and there but it’s not an issue for me to remember them if I put in a little bit more effort haha…
I can also make out some Japanese sentence structure thanks to the kanji but can’t fully read them to understand the complete meaning.

The reason that made me decide to attend Akamonkai is to improve on my Japanese grammar, sentence structure, vocabs and usages of kunyomi and onyomi (like when and how do I read kanji in their kunyomi and onyomi form).

I’m contemplating to attend Akamonkai in Nippori , Tokyo, Japan in October for their October intake to fully immerse myself in Japanese. But after reading some reviews online and Reddit posts about how brutal Akamonkai can be, I’m starting to doubt my decision.

So, since I’m capable in reading N5/N4 kanji, hiragana, katakana and make out some sentence structures and my purpose is to improve on my Japanese grammar, vocabulary, understanding and reading, is Akamonkai really recommended for someone like me?

Right now I only know two recommended schools which is 1) Akamonkai and 2) ISI. If anyone here has other Japanese Language school to recommend, feel free to let me know.

;w;; thank you!
