Well, seats for the JLPT in my city sold out quicker than I thought.
Is there any kind of wait list, resale, or no-show policy that would allow any way to possibly take the test? Or, is this just the type of thing that you need to wait until next year and be waiting right at the time they start selling to get a spot? It seems wild to me that I could have a practical reason I need a test result and I just can’t take it and need to wait a whole year.

you can try traveling to another, less popular location if it’s a quick train ride away, that might be the best backup plan if nothing else. i considered going to philly last year when they cancelled the nyc exam but decided to just skip on it entirely.
Same thing happened to me. I’m super depressed but this is just a hobby for me, so maybe it’s better if seats filled up with people who needed it
