Good international schools for kids transferring from Japanese public school

Anyone made this transition either as a parent or a student?

I need to start researching international schools for my child who has been attending public school. He will probably be in 5th grade when he starts (we may let him finish out elementary at his current school though). Our child speaks/reads/writes English. If I am objective though, he is starting to fall a bit behind – maybe a year behind a monolingual English speaker. We live closest to Ikebukuro. American/Japanese family and speak English in the home about 95% of the time.

So we would be looking for a good quality English language program/school but ideally keeping at least a decent momentum in Japanese. Cost isn’t the main concern although a balance of cost and quality is something we will look at. The names I know and have a bit of familiarity with are ASIJ, The British School, Canadian School.
