Hi folks, I’m in the initial stages of shutting down a 合同会社 I’ve been running for a few years, but the company has a lot of deficit (though no actual debt), somewhere in the area of 10 million yen, accrued over a decade.
My accountant told me that there is a fee/tax/penalty involved for closing down a company with a deficit, but he says it’s complex to calculate and he can’t get to it until after tax season.
I was wondering if anyone with experience shutting down a company in the red in Japan can give me a rough estimate on what to expect. I’ll get a more detailed answer from my guy in a few months, but having a ballpark figure now would help me tremendously in planning out the rest of the year.
Thanks!
