Experiences and recommendations staying in neighborhoods outside of general frequented areas (example takadanobaba)

I’ve found one of my favorite places to stay was in takadanobaba at the time the hotels were cheaper than shinjuku/shibuya yet it was only a couple stops and minutes away. And what I loved was being able to come back to a close but quiet spot that had a ton of tasty places to eat.

Are there any other places like this that’s convenient to travel from (a couple stops via train to shibuya or Shinjuku)but also nice enough to hangout at during the night (lots of izakaya and restaurants for a lazy day)

Would shimbashi (quick to west tokyo, ginza, tsukji, haneda) kanda (close to akiba, ueno, relatively close to shinjuku and shibuya via ginza line and shibuya line) gotanda (close to shibuya) be recommended or are there better spots? They all seem close to other main centers but due to their salaryman demographics tend to have alot of places to get drinks

Ideally I would like to find a place with an enough nightlife to grab a food or drinks after exploring the main attractions, proximity to shinjuku, shibuya in under 30 minutes would be important too. I stayed in okachimachi in the last trip which was also pretty nice due to how close it was to ueno.

I would love to hear other peoples experiences or if they think it would make more sense to stay in the more popular areas
