noob question – 3% fee paypal from to wise and then currency transfer?

In terms of math, sending from paypal to wise incurs a 3% fee on the amount sent. And then wise has its own fees for currency conversion – whenever you decide to make the exchange.

I am not sure if I am really saving money to be transferring into wise from paypal. I know paypals currency conversion is terrible at sme low number – even the quoted 141 seems inaccurrate as it usually feels like 134 yen or something for example, so i wonder if it is worth it if i were to send say a 1000 dollars from paypal?

Is it really worth it? Because I know wise has a .60% currency exchange fee and then there is an atm fee too incurred for most places at 200 ¥ and probably other hidden payments. So in total, I am losing around 4% total to fees. It feels like I am still being screwed around with at 140 yen or so roughly of what I had sent.

I am not sure if there is an alternative, like is there an affiliated bank paypal has which I can use to make a card and then make withdrawals from? Thanks,

Unfortunately I can only use paypal for what I use for work, so I cannot skip past their hold
