Struggling with my itinerary :'( 5 days in March

Hello! I’m heading to Japan this in March on what is going to be quite a tight schedule. I have roughly 5 days and I’m struggling on deciding on an itinerary. I’ve lived in Japan before so I already visited all the major touristy places: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Nara (obvs) then Nikko, Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go and Hiroshima along with Miyajima further south.

I was thinking about visiting Kyushu, having 3 days in Fukuoka (including Dazaifu and Nanzoin) and 2 days in Nagasaki (still debating whether it’s worth going to Unzen Jigoku or not), but I don’t know if it’s worth the trouble traveling all the way down there, especially because I’m not renting a car and other than in major cities the public transport seems a little bit lacking and because I’ll have to come back to Tokyo to take my flight back home. Any thoughts?

I’m starting to think that maybe it’s better to stick around the Kansai area and maybe visit Ise-jingu in Mie, Kumano or Koya-san. Anyone that’s been there can tell me if there are any easier to get to with public transport?

TIA!
