hello, I have been living in Japan for one year now as a language student and will be continuing my studies out here.
on top of my part time job (about 12 hours a week) I’m currently working as a freelance video editing contractor and I’m a musician collecting royalty checks every month from streaming
I do not own an LLC or anything. but these are two seperate operations essentially. Music is like a hobby that happens to bring in checks lol
All of my money goes into a US account, I’ll use my credit card when needed but essentially live off of the yen.
US is already fucking me hard and going to take a huge percent when taxes roll around, will Japan require me to provide taxes on this as well?
I don’t even know where to begin its all overwhelming and when researching online it just gets foggy. I don’t think too many people are in this kind of situation?
Any advice, tips, deadlines, or insight on the process would be super helpful
