I’ve been studying kanji for a while now (from a linguistical stand point), and I was wondering if there was a word represented by two kanjis who separately have a « negative » meaning but together they mean something positive.
It’s obviously not quite as clear cut as you asked for in your post, but a negative, a crisis, is made up of danger but also an opportunity (to develop and learn). I think it’s quite beautiful.
Not exactly what you’re asking, but 素敵 comes to mind. The first one is rather neutral (“origin”, “elementary”, “naked”) , but the second one, meaning “enemy” is clearly negative.

Together, the meaning becomes very positive.
