Going through some NJPW history and matches, and realizing Fujinami never beat Inoki in a singles match, but Choshu did

Just kinda of an interesting fact I thought.

Officially, Inoki and Fujianmi only had two singles matches; one where Inoki won and their famous hour draw on 08/08/88 (great match btw, would def recommend).

Inoki and Choshu had six matches, where Inoki won 4 (one by DQ), and and Choshu won 2 (one by DQ and won where he beat Inoki clean, on 22.02.1989).

Just interesting that Fujianmi was the clear successor to Inoki, even being Inoki’s direct protege, but never had that singles victory over him; although, there is Fujinami & Kengo Kimura’s victory over Inoki & Seiji Sakaguchi in the Tag League where Fujianmi pinned Inoki with the Dragon Suplex.

Compare that to Fujinami and Choshu, who traded victories but with Fujianmi winning the lion-share (Choshu being the 1B to Fujinami’s 1A; Fujianmi was the Ace of his time).
