I am an expat and will be moving to Tokyo around September this year along with my small dog (shih-tzu). The dog has separation anxiety and tends to bark when he is home alone. While I don’t leave him alone for long durations, there is still barking and scratching the doors till I get back home.
I am just worried if my dogs barking inside the house is frowned upon and can potentially cause a problem if people in the neighborhood complain of noise? I will likely be getting corporate housing but just want to figure out if this is going to be something I need to be mindful about and prepare for in advance?
Edit: not saying that I am okay with his barking. I am trying to fix it but with little luck so far. Also, I would not leave the dog for more than 1-2 hours at a go. I will definitely look into having a dog sitter at home once I am there.
