I’ll be moving to Japan in march to study for two years. I’ve read that a lot of banks have limitations on opening a bank account if you’ve lived in Japan for less than 6 months. Is this rule of 6 months current residence or if you’ve previously lived in Japan for over 6 months a couple years ago would that count as 6 months of residence? Sorry if this question has been asked before I was trying to find an answer and couldn’t really find it.
