1. How did she aquire American citizenship after her Japanese citizenship? She is both at the same time at birth. I am not sure I understand the situation completely. Did she have claim citizenship at some point and by doing so she has elected to wave her right to Japanese citizenship?

   Maybe simply accept that different countries have different laws and rules, that some countries allow dual nationality while others do not? Japan does not accept dual nationality, and they have made this clear. If you can’t decide and don’t want to give up on another, that’s unfortunate, but that’s your problem; stop blaming the country.
