So my wife and I have come to the conclusion that we would most likely like to move back to her home city of Osaka. Currently my wife is a Japanese citizen and our daughter has “dual nationality” ie dual U.S. and a Japanese passport.
I am currently exploring options for work in Osaka and was curious about how I would fair in that job market. I have a BS in Cyber Security and a MBA from Indiana Kelley School of Business. My current job is a Project Manager in Government IT modernization.
My current income is great which would mean we would be leaving (Hawaii) with about 250k USD in liquid cash and plan our selling our home out here for about 800-850k USD prior to departure.
Lastly, my Japanese ability is basically at early elementary level (I can converse to a point) and I can read hiragana/katakana and maybe about 200 Kanji.
So yeah that’s basically about it, my kid does spend summers in Japan integrating into the local public school for a month every year. (Mostly cultural experience with lieniency on grades)
