Tokyo April 23-29 – what to fit in before GW starts

Disclaimer: I knew it was the start of Golden Week April 27 when we booked, but it fit the dates we could travel. I don’t remember it being that bad when we went during GW a few years ago, but probably because we were just visiting my in-laws in Saitama/Fukushima and didn’t go sightseeing as much.

First leg of our trip is in Kyoto, then April 23rd coming to stay in Ikebukuro until our return flight Monday morning April 29th. Double-checking we correctly prioritized our shortlist of activities during the weekdays before Golden Week begins, or what we could move to Sat/Sun without it being crazy busy. Sunday is looking a little bare bones right now.

Weekday activities (Tues Apr 23 – Fri Apr 26):

* Tama Zoological Park
* Kappabashi (heard many shops are closed on the weekend) / Senso-ji / Asakusa
* Tsukiji Market (may skip) / TeamLabs Planets
* Tour bus for Ashikaga and Hitachi Seaside Park (already booked for Wed)

Weekend (Apr 27-28)

* Nippori Fabric Town (Saturday)
* Tokyo Dome (asobono for my toddler / spo-dori for adults)
* Strawberry picking for the toddler somewhere within 30-45 min travel time – any suggestions for farms would be great
* Shopping around Ikebukuro / Sunshine City Aquarium
