Hi! I’m tossing up where to study next year. I have two options: Kyoto University or Kyushu University. I’ve lived in Nara before, so am familiar with the Kinki area. Haven’t spent much time in Fukuoka. Would appreciate insight from residents / previous scholars from either of these two places!
Current thinking:
**Kyoto University**
\- Prestigious university (KU is highly ranked inside Japan, doesn’t really matter internationally?)
\- Osaka nearby (large city)
\- Friends in Nara not far away
\- Near major international airport
**Kyushu University**
\- New area to explore
\- Warmer climate
\- Possibly easier / more flexible coursework
\- Seaside? (I like beaches)
