Triple stacking points on daily purchases? (CC Points + IC card + Rakuten, etc?)

I’ve been living in Japan for several years now and lately I’ve realized that you can literally double or triple stack points on daily purchases? It seems a bit ridiculous but it seems like the consequence of interactions between all the companies offering points on everything.

What is the most cost effective way of getting the most % back in Japan?

For example : If I charge my Suica with my AMEX card on Apple Pay, then I pay with my Suica at a restaurant and also provide my T-Point card or local Department points card, then I’m getting 1% points on AMEX, 1% or more on Suica (JRE Tokyo points), and 0.5% to 1% on my T-point / department shop card. (Not to mention getting a stamp for their store loyalty in some places.)

The total rebate on this could be 3% of more in typical cases. And that seems really generous.

I used to think points weren’t worth the mental hassle. But even if you just stack AMEX+Suica points, and you commute every day and eat out occasionally, by the end of the year you could have about 15-20 days worth of commute or groceries for free. That’s insane!
