I was looking to move to a new apartment with my family before the renewal fee of our current apartment. We eventually found one suitable for us but we were waiting for the approval by the management company before notifying our current management company of the move. We finally received the approval on the last day before the start of the 2 months notice period. We called the management company, but it was not possible to talk to them directly, we needed to leave our phone number and they would call us back. They didn’t call back on the same day, so we called again the next morning and they called back before noon. They said that since we are late we still need to pay the renewal fees and that there’s nothing we can do.
Is there any recourse? I get that it’s in the contract, but i feel that the management company failed to reply to us and that we can’t really be blamed for being 10 hours late.
