Finding work in Japan

Hi guys!

My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving to Japan in late 2024 as he has a job offer in Tokyo. I was wondering if anyone has advice on how I could go about finding work though. I qualify for the J-Find visa as my university is on the list of approved schools. I specialized in anthropology and political science and had the opportunity to study in Canada, Egypt, and China. I’m fluent in English, French, and Polish. I’m also advanced in Russian, Arabic, Mandarin, and Norwegian while conversational in Swahili (if that’ll be of any use 😭). I’m currently taking Japanese lessons privately and will continue to do so until I reach a comfortable level so hopefully, I will reach that by the time we go.

Unfortunately, my degree feels rather useless so I’m not sure if I should do a graduate program in Japan to help with eventually getting a good job or even a coding bootcamp. I’d really rather not have to resort to minimum-wage work or teaching English. Embassies are what I’ve been told to look into but I’m unsure as to how that would work as I wouldn’t be sent by my home country but in that case, be applying as “local” since I would have a work visa already? I’d rather have something lined up beforehand and not just blindly follow my bf so any advice is appreciated!
