Beginner question: I am a permanent resident (not US citizen, with Japanese family), working full time in higher education. Recently, I started looking for side projects (tech related), potentially with foreing companies.
I am trying to understand better the advantages and disadvantages of doing this work as a kojin jigyo vs as a salaried part time job. So far my understanding is that the ability of declaring my expenses is the biggest advantage of kojin jiygo, and the disadvantage is the extra administration / accounting.
My question: is there any scenario where the kojin jigyo is less favorable than some kind of work contract? Are there edge scenarios, for example, longer periods without costumer, where kojin jigyo can bite back?
