Hello!
I’m planning a trip to Japan this summer and obviously want to experience onsens.
The problem is, I’m quite shy and also naturally red-headed (pale skin, freckles, red hair and all the accessories).
Fortunately, no tattoos or other body modifications.
Will people stare at me in onsens? While changing, showering or in the pool?
I hope to rent a family onsen for an hour or so, that I can bathe with with my BF, but I’d also like to try the public ones.
Also, ryokan with in-room private onsen is kind of outside my price range (would it even be worth in the summer, though?)
