I stopped watching NJPW for like a year but tuned into WK18 and started getting back into it, so I’m unaware if there is any significance behind Evil & Kaito’s involvement in the Shota-Narita storyline, if Evil & Kaito were in a feud of their own or what even happened with SHO and YOH since their WK match.
While I was getting familiar with the current storylines, I started seeing some parallels between Narita turning on Shota and joining HoT and three years ago when SHO turned on YOH and… joined HoT. I understand SHO & YOH are jr’s, but I figured it would’ve made sense for YOH to guide and help Shota considering he experienced the portrayal of a friend in a similar manner and was able to successfully exact revenge. While SHO would support his new stablemate and gladly take part in the opportunity to torment his arch-nemesis once again. Though Shota and YOH would soon realize that the evil Narita possesses is on a whole different level as they unfortunately get defeated by HoT’s devious way. I think it would’ve been a great way to revitalize SHO & YOH’s careers by bringing back their feud and history together to further elevate the feud between two young stars who basically in a similar position.
