My husband and I just got orders to Kadena but they were delayed for so long that now I’m stressing out trying to figure out everything on the back end. We have four cats who are, of course, family. The original plan was for him to fly with two and me to fly with two.
Unfortunately, since getting the orders were delayed so long, they don’t have room for both of the cats he was going to take with him. Which leaves three for me. Not an issue (maybe?) if I fly commercial, except that now I’m looking at quarantine requirements and since we didn’t even know we were going until September and didn’t get our orders until a week ago, I didn’t do the FAVN test until mid October. This puts the 180 day quarantine period into April (if I’m doing math correctly).
My (one of many) question is: I know they can be quarantined on base, but is this only if I fly directly into Kadena via the rotator/military flight or would this also work if I fly commercially into Naha airport?
I’m worried that if my only option is to fly on the rotator, they won’t approve me to fly with three cats and we would have to leave one of them behind.
I’m trying to figure out everything I need between scrambling for TMO and everything else.
