Myself (Sri Lankan), and my Japanese partner want to get married as soon as possible for mortgage reasons.
One of my friends told me that I could get married in city hall without getting married in my embassy first.
Has anyone done anything similar to this? If so what are the required documents?
Anything I should be aware of?
Update: All I need was a declaration from the embassy saying that I’m single and free to marry.
