I have recently finished my Bachelor’s in mathematics and have been working part-time at my home university as a teaching assistant, as well as in financial services consulting/audit in a big firm (this is quite common for my country and major). I’m moving to Tokyo in two months for grad school (also math), and I’m wondering if it is possible to find these types of part-time jobs, which are relevant to my field, in Tokyo, as I haven’t really found any postings for them.
Also, are paid internships during the holiday months a thing?
For added context: I speak Japanese reasonably well (not on a business level yet), and my reading/writing is quite bad but improving. I speak english fluently.
If anyone has experience with this, I’d be super grateful for any general info or advice!
I’ve seen a lot posted on here about student part-time jobs like Konbini, teaching english or Izakaya, but hopefully this hasn’t been asked before.
