Although it might seem corny, I just wanna say thanks to the people of Osaka

As soon as I arrived at Osaka on vacation and emerged from the subway station at Shin-Imamiya with my phone and Google map, a distinguished looking elderly gentlemen walked up to me and asked me where I needed to go. He could tell I was new in town and he intended to help me. He then took a look at my phone and literally walked with me to my hotel. He was so kind.

A few days later I was a little lost at a subway station and a high school student walked up to me and said, “Sir, you look lost. Can I help you?” He then walked with me to make sure that I got to the platform where I needed to go. He didn’t just point and leave me, he walked every step with me. I gave him one of my social media addresses and I am still in touch with him – I hope I can help him some day.

I found this type of kindness and friendliness all throughout the city. Osaka is the kind of city where people notice when you are a bit lost or confused and they come over to help you. I fell in love with the people of Osaka. These are not self-absorbed people – they are very much aware of each other and willing to lend a helping hand.

So thank you so much people of Osaka. I had 7 wonderful days in your city in surprisingly warm weather and I really enjoyed wandering around and seeing your city.

By the way, your Osaka History Museum is really wonderful! Great job! Great city!!!!
