i’m a UK citizen currently living in Japan on a student visa.
i’m planning on taking a trip abroad during spring break, and am a bit confused on how to go about getting travel insurance & medical coverage for my trip.
most major UK providers i’ve heard of and have looked at require that i’m travelling out of and back to the UK, which isn’t the case. they also mention being a permanent resident in the UK – i’m not a permanent resident in Japan, so if it’s the same policy i’m worried that will complicate things.
does anyone have experience getting travel insurance in Japan as a non-permanent resident? and does it vary based on what country you’re a citizen of?
