Exploring Options for Temporary Work in Japan

Hi all. First thanks for reading. I’m looking for what options might be a viable to me and my family if we want to temporarily live in Japan (and longer if it works out well).

My husband and I are interested in temporarily living in Japan (3 months up to 1 year). We’re a family of 3 (our kid is not school age yet). Neither of us speak Japanese. I’m not sure if what options there are but I’ve thought of few:

1) One of us gets a student visa to study there.

2) We only go on a tourist visa up to 3 months. But not sure what housing options we’d have.

3) One or both of us teach English there. I’ve seen programs ECC and JET, but worried that if one of us gets it, what’s the likelihood of us bringing the spouse and child ? And also, what about childcare if both of us work?

4) one of us may be able to get on a formal work visa, but that’s not an opportunity right now. We’d have to do some networking.

5) I may be starting a remote business. How can I get a work visa for Japan in this case?

So, ultimately I’m wondering:

1) is this a real possibility? Considering Childcare? Working? Housing? Non speaking Japanese (but having full intent to learn)?

2) if there are options to make this happen, what could be some that I haven’t thought of?

Thanks for your consideration.
