   Yes unless it’s a religious thing.

3. Depends on social group.Those people who have FWB are around 20% both men and women according to surveys, they just stick together.

   Not really weird, it is rare nowadays but the idea of keeping virginity was common until 70-80s (judging from media) in Japan and most people would understand the concept of keeping virginity until married if few people care about it themselves

4. As long as they’re adults, can act under their own free will and everyone consents, then they can do what they please. And different people have different preferences. Sex only after marriage is likely a religious thing, but if you and your partner agree upon it, then why not?

It is very uncommon in modern Japan to be set on waiting until marriage to have sex for a few reasons- one because Japanese people are largely irreligious and the concept of virginity is mostly perpetuated by religion and two because many Japanese people do not get married until their late 20s and more frequently their 30s.

   However, it doesn’t really matter because it is your body and anyone who is not willing to accept that is not the right person for you.

6. Similarly I don’t understand your reservations, but I respect your choice. Attitudes toward sex are varied as the stars in the sky.

   The only thing I consider weird is the suggestion that your friends represent all of Japanese culture, values, and opinions towards sex.

7. Japanese youngsters – normal. Middle-aged Japanese – abnormal. In Japan, there are some certain societal expectations on how one should behave when you reach a certain age group.
