Hello all. Our cat escaped our house (U.S. military housing area) during yesterdays earthquake. We’ve notified every appropriate authority within our neighborhood (fire dept, local school, etc) to keep an eye out, we’ve made FB group posts and we’re going to put up posters as well. She is microchipped but that only helps if someone were to actually scan her or her collar.
Suppose the cat made it out of the neighborhood into actual Japan? Should we start hitting up local Japanese vets and police stations as well? Losing a pet in another country is even more worrying than it normally would be.
