Hi everyone! I going to Japan for two weeks with my partner mid-April. We have friends in Tokyo and Kyoto who will guide us around during our time there. The days we are visiting Kyoto and Tokyo are set, but we are very interested in a few sites in the Nagano area – especially a stay over at a sake brewery participating in the sake making process. I am concerned we are being too ambitious in our Nagano area portion, given the long travel time between all these cities. Please let me know what you think! I copied our itinerary below.
*\[4/14-4/17\] Tokyo: Explore the city, with a focus on architecture sites, sake, and food*
\[4/18\] Tokyo to Narai: stay at Byaku Narai and explore the small town
\[4/19\] Narai to Shibu Onsen: onsen and monkey park visit. We would like to visit on onsen, but given the amount of time we have in Toyko instead of going so far as Shibu Onsen we can also do a day trip to Hakone.
\[4/20\] Shibu Onsen to Saku: stay at a sake brewery and participate in sake experience. We are really looking forward to this experience, but they only offer it this day so we have to plan around it.
\[4/21\] Saku to Takayama: spend the afternoon in the town
\[4/22\] Takayama: Shirakawa-go day trip
\[4/23\] Takayama-Kyoto
*\[4/23-4/28\]: Kyoto: explore the city, day trips to Nara and Osaka*
