We are going on a kitesurfing trip to Okinawa in Feb 2024.
Looking for advise on the following:
1. Where to stay in February given we would be looking for wind every day and drive to the appropriate beach based on wind direction? We are looking for some “mid range” type of accommodation. NOT hostel, but we don’t need a fancy place either.
2. Where are the most likely beaches where people kitesurf / hydrofoil during month of Feb in Okinawa ? there are many beaches, but not all beaches are good for it , have space to launch and shared by other kitesurfers? Any good info on beaches and types of bottom at each of the beach and wind directions in Feb would be great.
3. Are there kite schools in Okinawa we should be contacting for all these questions?
4. Anyone hydrofoil in Okinawa? I know many beaches are very shallow, where would be a good beach for foiling ? And which ones are best for shallow twin-tip riding?
5. What are the other things we should know about Okinawa kitesurfing in February ? (how cold is the water? do we need wetsuits? shorty or long? etc?
6. Any other dos and don’ts in Okinawa? What other things we MUST do while there in addition to kitesurfing>
