[Itinerary Check] – 7 days in Northern Japan

Hi, I’m capping off a 3 week trip to Japan with a week in Tohoku and Hokkaido the last week of June (was planning on taking the Tuesday flight out of Asahikawa to Taipei after) – I’ve never been to the area before, so I figured I’d check and see if I was making smart choices.

For some context, I’m 21M, non-speaker (taking Japanese 1 in university this semester, not sure how effective that will be). I don’t drink, so I’m not super interested in stuff like the Sapporo beer museum, but I am into outdoorsy stuff and just generally hanging out in cities (still interested in nightlife/city life, though I imagine that scene will be better in Tokyo and Osaka).

My general plan was to do this:

2 days in Sendai (arriving \~10a):

* Day 1:
* morning/early afternoon in Yamadera & afternoon/night in City
* Day 2:
* Day trip to Matsushima Bay

1 day in Hakodate – (arriving 1-2pm):

* View from Mount Hakodate and Goryōkaku Tower

1 day in Noboribetsu (maybe Lake Toya instead? not sure which is better):

* Hell Valley
* Bear Park
* National Ainu Museum
* Orofure Pass
* Onsen

1 day in Sapporo:

* Mt. Moiwa
* TV Tower
* Clock Tower
* Najakima Park
* Hokkaido Govt. Office
* Tanukikoji

1 day in Furano & Biei:

* Flower farms
* ?

1 day in Asahikawa:

* Asahi-dake (probably hike up and ropeway down)
* Onsen?

Am I missing something you’d really recommend? Are any of these stops a waste of time?
