This is both a bit of a rant and a question. For those language learners who like to game, am I the only one searching for video games to learn Kanji that are more than just glorified textbooks or flashcard games?
When I think about learning any language the first thing I try to do is get as much media input as possible. For me, reading works the best to help solidify things in my mind but my goodness, learning Kanji is such a barrier!
I spent 2 years living in Japan starting back in 2016 and spoke the language a ton but to this day I can only read a small handful of Kanji.
I thought games would be a good option to get memorization in a more engaging way but everything I can find at least on mobile is more focused on studying and rote memorization and doesn’t really feel like a truly enjoyable video game.
