My boyfriend and I are escaping the sweltering heat of an Aussie Xmas. We will be in Osaka for two weeks over Xmas and new years.
I’ve booked a really cute little boutique hotel in Arimacho for a couple days as I googled nearby snow fields and surmised from hours of google maps and translate that that is a good spot for hiking, sightseeing, onsen and seeing some snow (albeit most likely artificial).
I think I’ve pretty much exhausted all I could find online in English regarding information on Mt Rokko snow park and surrounding tourist spots. But has anyone here actually used Mt Rokko snow park facilities? Was it fun? Worth it?
I’ve never gone skiing, snowboarding or sledding in my entire life and am very uncoordinated so I’m not looking for fresh dusty snow and challenging slopes. I just want to survive with all my limbs and have a fun day.
Any other specific location recommendations are most welcome!
Bonus points if it includes vegan food or vintage homeware/fashion shops or regional designers!
