Hi guys!
I am planning to travel together with my girlfriend to Japan for 19 days.
* Period: End of February up to Mid of March
* Duration: 19 days
* Cities we would like to visit: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hakone, Yokohama
* Preferences: Food, Cafés, Anime, Shopping, Sightseeing
* Hotels:
* Tokyo both parts: Sunroute Plaza in Shinjuku
* Osaka: Granvia Osaka
* Hakone: Ryokan
* While going from Tokyo -> Hakone -> Osaka I will ship our luggage from Tokyo to Osaka in order to have nearly 0 luggage in Hakone (just a backpack)
* 1-2 days before heading back to Tokyo from Osaka I will ship our luggage back to our hotel in Tokyo
3 years ago, I was living for approx. 6 months in Japan in Yokohama and therefore explored Tokyo and Yokohama quite often.
For my girlfriend it will be the first time in Japan, so my focus definitely lies on showing her everything! (+ I will propose to her on This Trip)
I tried to structure the itinerary based on my experience & insights from this subreddit.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be spontaneous!

Do y’all think this itinerary would work out?
**Part 1 – Tokyo:**
**Day 1: Arrival – Exploring Shinjuku & Shibuya**
* Arrival in Tokyo at around 9AM (Leaving the airport at around 10AM)
* Hotel is in Shinjuku and Check-In is at 3PM
* Plan A):
* Going to Shibuya, putting the luggage into the lockers and start exploring Shibuya, e.g. Shibuya 109, Donki, Parco, Scramble
* If it is not too late:
* Yoyogi Park
* Walking from Shibuya to Harajuku and “mini”-exploring Harajuku
* Plan B:
* Going to Shinjuku straight from the airport, ask the hotel to leave our luggage at the reception and start exploring Shinjuku, e.g. Donki, Godzilla, Shopping etc.
* After Shinjuku going to Shibuya to see Shibuya at night
**Day 2: Harajuku & optional: Shimokitazawa**
* As our hotel is located in Shinjuku we would like to start the day with walking in the Shinjuku Gyoen Park
* Afterwards we would like to go to Harajuku for the following activities
* Takeshita Street
* Girlfriend wants to get a hair treatment at a stylist (approx. 2 hours)
* Vintage shopping
* Making our own wedding rings at Ringram (approx. 2-3 hours)
* Meiji Shrine
* Checking out Omote Sando
If time is left:
Either walking to Shibuya and then walking to Shimokitazawa (takes much time but did it back then in Japan and the walk was pretty cool)
OR just exploring Shibuya or Shimokitazawa to further continue shopping
**Day 3: Museum, Café and observation deck**
* Teamlab Borderless in Azabudai Hills
* Pokemon Cafe
* Akihabara: Arcade, Shopping etc.
* Tokyo Skytree or Shibuya Scramble + Shibuya Sky
-> Proposing at the end of the day
**Day 4: Disney Sea**
* Disney Sea and that’s it!
**Day 5: Ghibli Museum and activities around the museum**
* Starting the day with the Ghibli Museum
* After the museum:
* Exploring Inokashira Park
* Go to Nakano and explore the Nakano broadway (Bar Zingaro)
* Ginza + Asakusa OR Shinjuku
**Day 6: Day trip to Enoshima + Kamakura**
* Usual activities in both places
**Part 2 – Hakone:**
**Day 7: Trip to Hakone**
* Take the earliest Romance Car and head to Hakone
* Do the Hakone Loop
* Check-In at Ryokan at around 3-4 PM and enjoy the private onsen + Kaiser dinner
**Day 8: Remaining time at Hakone**
* Enjoy the private onsen for the last time
* Breakfast at the Ryokan
* Head to the Open Air Museum
* Take the Shinkansen to Osaka and explore Osaka a little bit
**Part 3 – Osaka & Kyoto (Base is in Osaka):**
**Day 9: Explore Kyoto pt. 1**
* Start with the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
* If we have enough energy : Go to the Arashiyama Monkey Park
* Tenryu-ji
* Kinkakju-ji
* In the evening: exploring Osaka (e.g. Dotonbori, Shinsekai, Umeda Sky Building, Teamlab Osaka)
**Day 10: Explore Kyoto pt. 2**
* Start with Fushimi Inari and go to the top
* Tofuku-ji
* Gingaku-ji to Nanzen incl. Philosophers Path
* In the evening: exploring Osaka (e.g. Dotonbori, Shinsekai, Umeda Sky Building, Teamlab Osaka)
**Day 11: USJ & Mario Land**
* No concrete Plan – just USJ & Mario Land and short “break” from Kyoto! 🙂
* In the evening: exploring Osaka (e.g. Dotonbori, Shinsekai, Umeda Sky Building, Teamlab Osaka)
**Day 12: Explore Kyoto pt. 3**
* Day trip to Nara
* Deer Park
* Todaiji
* Kasuga Taisha
* Kofukuji
* Motchi Pounding
* Gardens
* In the evening: exploring Osaka (e.g. Dotonbori, Shinsekai, Umeda Sky Building, Teamlab Osaka)
**Day 13: Explore Osaka and head back to Tokyo**

* China Town
* Minato Mirai
* Ferris Wheel
* Sky Garden
* Red Brick Warehouse etc.
**Day 16, 17 and 18: Spontaneous activities, do whatever we want:**
* Spontaneous activities like:
* Sanrio Land
* Trip to Odaiba
* Exploring Ginza
* Nightlife in Roppongi
* Rikugien Garden
* Final Shopping
**Day 19: Last day**
* Final shopping
* Going back to Haneda Airport and finish our trip
