What’s feasible to see in Nikko in a few hours

Heading to Japan (5th visit) in a few weeks, and we’re finally heading to Nikko to have a winter onsen getaway. We have our ryokan booked, and we’re hoping to get there early-ish to enjoy the bathing and facilities – hoping to arrive about 4PM. The ryokan is right in Nikko and they have a shuttle service from the station.

Our train arrives in Nikko from Tokyo at appx 9:30 AM. Is it feasible to be able to see Kegon Falls, the temple complex and the Shinkyo Bridge, along with having time for lunch and a bit of souvenir shopping? Or should we nix the falls and stick to the temples and sights around the main world heritage area? Since we’ll also be there the first week of Feb, I imagine the falls will be at least partially frozen/it’ll be cold, so will it be worth it to go all the way there?

Thank you for any advice/suggestions!
