Hi r/Kyoto. My husband and I will be in Kyoto October 12-14 and am looking for a tea house for a tea experience of some sort. I saw the recent post where a redditor paid $400 for an experience and that is not something that I am wanting to do. My husband doesn’t like tea but would enjoy a special travel experience so I am trying to work out a way to do this on a budget.
I was thinking something like a tea shop that does tastings or something similar. The other option I looked at was [https://www.kyoto-uji-kankou.or.jp/taihoan-en.html](https://www.kyoto-uji-kankou.or.jp/taihoan-en.html) where you can do a tea ceremony experience for 2400 yen
Does anyone have experience with this or other similar budget options? Ideally closer to the main tourist areas just for timing/ease of experience.
