Hey! So, I’ve always loved learning new languages, and teaching, I’m the “teacher”among my friends, I genuinely love helping people understand things. I found out about the JET program a while ago, and it caught my interest, I realized I’d love to teach English!!. I’ve been to Japan twice and have been learning Japanese for about 2 years now (just a fun fact really, I don’t think that matters a lot from what I’ve seen) I’ve lurked around here and watched videos about the program, I know the pay might not be great and I could end up in the middle of nowhere, I’d be okay with that if I got accepted. I do wonder what happens after JET—could I move to a bigger city and get better pay later on? What are the job opportunities like? I will also be graduating high school next year and would love advice on degrees that could help as well. I feel kind of lost regarding this, any guidance is appreciated. Thanks.
*TLDR: Passionate about languages and teaching, I’m interested in the JET program. Aware of potential challenges and wondering about post-JET opportunities, like moving to a bigger city. Graduating high school soon, seeking advice on relevant degrees too. Feeling a bit lost, any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!*
