What’s going on? I love the city visually. It’s fun! Food has been great so far. Nightlife has been awesome. But specifically areas near Yodobayashi, it’s been smelling like a septic tank has been drained all day both days so far. Some corners have the smell, others not.
What’s going on? What’s that smell?

Edit: Some people have explained it is probably a Ginkgo nut issue. It makes sense with locals claiming they might not smell it (if the smell of ginkgo nuts doing this is normal and may be noseblind?….) but I’ve never been around Ginkgo nuts in my life. So if this is the reason, it hit me like a truck in a very abnormal way. Thank you everyone who actually helped teach me something new.
